SANYO introduce the MCO-19AIC CO2 Incubator - the first CO2 Incubator with multi-level contamination control and a Hydrogen Peroxide Decontamination System

The SANYO-19AIC CO2 Incubator has been specifically designed for highly demanding cell culture and regulated applications.

Two major criteria are the focus of the MCO-19AIC's design. These design criteria provide systems for optimum cell growth and systems for the ultimate in sample protection

The air-jacket design provides an even distribution of temperature throughout the incubation chamber to ensure cultures on all shelves are incubated under the same temperature conditions. In addition to this, the air-jacket eliminates the possibility of cold spots on the incubator walls thereby removing the possibility of condensation and associated contamination areas. The recovery of temperature after accessing samples is also very rapid, to ensure minimal stress to the cultures inside the CO2 Incubator.

The CO2 sensor and control system is an entirely new design. The infra-red sensor is not affected by changes in humidity and more importantly is not affected by changes in temperature, upon temperature loss after accessing samples. The sensor is unique for this type of CO2 incubator since it contains two receptors, one to measure the CO2 concentration in the Incubator and another to measure the back ground CO2 level. This results in the sensor being able to constantly recalibrate and auto-zero every second of the day - all day every day - and so provides one of the most accurate control systems available to ensure your cells are grown under optimum CO2 conditions. The sensor is also PID controlled for fast recovery (3 minutes or less) and operates without wasting gas through excessive overshoot of the set CO2 level.

Sample protection is provided to cover all aspects of the incubator's use. The interior is constructed from the unique InCuSafe copper enriched stainless steel alloy which is effective in the decontamination of  Bacteria, Fungi, and Mycoplasma - all- day- every day without having to run decontamination cycles. A SafeCell UV system is an available option  that decontaminates any airborne contaminants  all- day- every- day without having to run decontamination cycles. The UV system is non-ozone producing and is non-harmful to your cell cultures.

For more demanding protocols, the MCO-19AIC can have an optional Hydrogen Peroxide Decontamination System fitted. This type of decontamination system is extremely effective and extremely fast since a complete cycle only takes 130 minutes rather than several hours, or overnight, like some heat decontamination systems require. The Hydrogen Peroxide Decontamination System is also safe to use since the H2O2 vapour is contained within the incubator and is broken down at the end of the cycle to water and oxygen. The Door Interlock also adds to the safety of this system. Samples are further protected by the inbuilt alarm systems.

The large high resolution LCD display features intuitive pop-up menus to make entering set points easy, together with multi-point data logging and a graphical display of the incubation conditions. An optional PC interface permits remote transmission of data from the incubator.
